Libre graphics is the use of free and open software.

Gimp is a free photo manipulating software.

This is GIMP's interface which I find quite similar to photoshop.

These are some of the works I found that had been done on GIMP.

I took this photo of the Barbican into GIMP to work on. As the Barbican is quite crowded in terms of whats there housing, cinema, gallery etc. I wanted to show this in the work. I zoomed into the photo using the 'zoom' tool.

I then put a filter on the photo as to distort the image and make it look more like shopping shelves you might see in the supermarket.

I happen to have a deep love for cats, so I found this picture and wanted to intensify the eyes of the cat on GIMP.

I added a grain filter and intensified the highlights to give the fur and the eyes a deeper and more intense look.

After adding the filter and editing the colours on GIMP. I decided to zoom into the image, after getting the idea from watching the video Lara showed us about perspective.

I started testing out some typography on Gimp. I want to specialise in typography which is why I wanted to explore this medium.
